ZAP! Xebra Car

with the Alltrax AXE
Products Completed.
Working closely with the folks at ZAP! World, Alltrax
OEM Services have tailored the throttles for the
Alltrax AXE 72 volt Electric Motor Controller used in
the Xebra Sedan.  The team effort between the two
companies created a program configuration unique
to the ZAP EV providing more control for parking and
increased vehicle performance.

Zap's production line has been running non-stop
with this sedan version (with many colors and
options).

ZAP! Just released the "PK Pickup" version in late
2006.  The buzz through the grape vine over the PK
Pickup will keep the crew at ZAP! very busy for the
next decade.

Just to keep your eye out for the changes in the
next few years; the EPA is changing the emissions
requirements and will obviously make the PK (Small
EV Utility truck) one of the highest selling NEV's on
the market.

combustion motor bikes at the Geneva 2006 Super Cross.

Quantya, a Switzerland company has been working on a performance motor bike

competitive bikes.

Alltrax AXE Series -
Performance Motor
Controller
The Recreational Watercraft world is in for a big surprise when you pull a wake
in this quiet full electric powered luxurious pleasure water craft from
Lear-Baylor Marine.

This boat includes a unique pop-top that provides protection from the sun,
fishing outings, or the occasional rain, then drops back into the hull for
sleek
performance
boating.

As water quality concerns for our lakes and streams drive more EPA restrictions
onto our hydrocarbon internal combustion engine boats, the electric boats will
become a more attractive alternative.  This boat is the ultimate toy and will
surprise you with the power and agility.  The Electric drive eliminates EPA issues
with the same (or better) overall performance.  Fisherman - "Wanna catch the
big one?" An electric motor is 100 times quieter than a internal combustion
engine and doesn't require storage of on-board gasoline.

AXE4844M
Momentary Output
Product-Discontinued
(2/09/2007)
The AXE-4844M (Momentary) was a product designed for a specific
application where 400 "momentary" amps were needed to get the vehicle
moving, then taper power to prevent overloading stock motors.

Unfortunately, the 44M was used in applications outside its design
capabilities and caused high warranty incident rates.  A vast number of these
cases where found that the customer was unaware of the differences
between the momentary and the performance versions.

To increase our customer satisfaction, Alltrax has decided to discontinue the
44M momentary version and only sell the XX44 (400amp @2minutes) in the
full power version, the AXE4844.  When properly applied to the correct
motor and application, these controllers have a very low failure rate with
increased performance and customer satisfaction.

Reported issues with

"USB
communication cable
drivers"
Just a heads up for anyone using Controller Pro with the
Microsoft Windows Vista
(TM) operating system.

Here’s the scoop.  Currently we recommend two USB-Serial Adapters for use
with our Controller Pro software such as Cables to Go "Port Authority 2 and
the Radio Shack Model 26-183.  We found the USB adapters are easier to
use than straight 232 cables.  With the release of the Windows Vista
operating system, the "drivers" that come with the adapter cables (located
on the supplied CD) are not compatible with Vista.  Cables to Go has a
driver for Vista but Radio Shack is still working on the issue.  Unless the
drivers are installed, neither of these adapter cables will work with Vista.
These cables have worked on all previous Windows operating systems.

Getting the Vista driver for "Cables to Go" is pretty easy:

Cables to Go has not put the updated driver on their website yet but they
supplied the above installation instructions.

At this time, there are no known issues using Controller Pro with Windows
Vista
(TM).  However, if you have any issues, please let me know at
info@alltraxinc.com

We found Vista 64 had issues with USB drivers.  More news as we find it...

Alltrax created a ZAP vehicle wiring diagram [Doc100-027-A_DWG-ZAP-Xebra-5KW-Wiring.pdf]
and located on our Document Depot web page.  This file was a "simplified drawing" of the vehicles
very detailed drawing and intended as a representation of the Alltrax basic controller diagram used
for technical troubleshooting.

Zap is the sole provider of service to the vehicles, and we apologize this simplified troubleshooting
wiring diagram caused any confusion with their customers.

Mean Green Machines: Episodes
"The Extreme Motocross" (Airs on the Discovery Channel February 18th)
It's California Casual when the two teams of this motocross episode first meet to
compare the sleek and electric Zero Motorcycle against the reigning champ of
motocross - the Honda CR250V bike.

But while both teams seem interested and friendly the spirit of competition soon
takes over and each driver saddles deep in his seat to drive his bike into the winning
spot. Casual aside, it's a high stakes competition for Neal Saiki, the creator of the
Zero bike, as he strives to bring his quiet zero emissions motorcycle to the forefront
of motocross racing.
